Epic Encounters: Dance and Inclusion for Cambodia
Empowering Disabled Youth Through Dance
Kampot, Cambodia
Project Story
This Cambodian social initiative expands Epic Encounters, an inclusive dance company, to empower disabled individuals and promote inclusivity in rural communities through dance performances and workshops. The project will be based in Kampot, Cambodia and operate within various rural communities in the country, focusing on areas with limited exposure to inclusive arts and disability awareness initiatives. By targeting these specific locations, the project aims to effect positive change at the grassroots level, to create meaningful change within their communities.
Through the support of a $9,800 Purpose Earth grant, Epic Encounters: Dance and Inclusion for Cambodia project will be able to secure the funds needed for venue hire, transportation, costumes for performers and payment for translators for deaf artists, dance leaders and dancers.
“Through our work, we have seen first-hand the transformative power of art and community engagement. With the Purpose Earth grant, we can push for even more significant and lasting change. This is about more than just a project; it's about creating a long-term legacy of inclusivity and understanding.”
